A more detailed schedule will come closer to the date, but the overall timings are as follows:
Before 14:00
We'll have rooms available in Gbeľany before the ceremony, so there will be time to check in, freshen up, and relax before everything begins.
14:00 until late
From 14:00 onward, we'll have the wedding ceremony, then dinner and drinks, and then celebrate into the night with the after-party with some excellent music.

Slovakia is not Slovenia — if your plane is going to Ljubljana, you are going to the wrong country! Gbeľany is in Northern Slovakia, in the Žilina region, around two hours from the capital, Bratislava. There are a few sensible ways to make the journey, and if there are groups arriving at similar times, we'll try to help coordinate shared travel.
Flights. Bratislava and Vienna are the closest neighbouring capital cities in Europe and are about an hour apart by train or bus. For most guests, the easiest option will probably be to fly into Bratislava or Vienna and continue from there. Bratislava is also close to Budapest in Hungary, so it's easy to make a longer trip out of this!
Trains. Žilina is the closest train station to Château Gbeľany, and you can get a train from Bratislava which will take around 2.5–3 hours.
Coaches and shared transfers. If several guests are arriving around the same time, we'll try to help arrange a shared coach or transfer from Bratislava. Please fill out the Google Form so we can see who's travelling when!
Taxis and ride-hailing. Bolt and Uber are the main ride-hailing apps in Slovakia, widely available in Bratislava and larger cities.
We'll provide rooms at the château on the wedding date since the celebration will run late! Please let us know when you would like to arrive in the Google Form.
Wedding night at the château. We will provide accommodation at Château Gbeľany for the wedding night, so you will be able to stay on site during and after the celebration.
If you'd like to arrive earlier. If you want to come a day early (e.g., the night before), we can also extend the room booking by one day earlier.
If you'd like to arrive on the day. Airbnbs in Bratislava are quite affordable (please self-arrange) and you can travel by train in the morning. If others are making the same journey, we'll try to connect people up!
If you want to make a longer trip out of it — Vienna is an hour from Bratislava by train, Budapest about 2.5 hours, and Prague around 4. Easy to tack on a few extra days!
Bratislava Castle. Up on the hill overlooking the Danube. Worth the walk for the view alone. bratislava-hrad.sk
UFO Tower. The weird flying-saucer thing on top of the SNP Bridge — you can go up for a drink and see into Austria. redmonkeygroup.com/ufo
Old Town. Small, walkable, full of cafés. You can see most of it in an afternoon.
Eating and drinking. Slovak Pub for big traditional portions, Zelený Rodrigéz for cocktails in a nice courtyard, or Mestiansky Pivovar for local craft beer.
Devín Castle. Ruined castle on a cliff where the Danube and Morava rivers meet, about 20 minutes outside the city. muzeum.bratislava.sk
